Broken, alone, frustrated and maybe even angry. Bruised, confused, feeling worthless and hopeless. Divorced, a single mom, poor and sometimes just needing to cry. Mentally and physically exhausted and feeling like it all just needs to end. Surrounded by addiction, narcissism, and all kinds of mental illnesses 
until suddenly depression sets in from dealing with it all. Family illnesses, health problems and even deaths of family and friends has you down. 

Eating to comfort yourself, not eating because you just can’t. There is no air to breathe, throat seems small, chest hurts, heart is racing, head pounds, feeling dizzy. A panic attack has struck! Breathe, deep breaths, count, and calm down. Tomorrow will be a better day!

Then the journey back. Some things help, some don’t. It is a journey in mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health. One of learning to set boundaries, to take time for oneself, to allow others to show love and accepting love from a God who was and is with me every step of the way. Some steps of the journey have been easy, while others seemed almost impossible. There have been small steps, big steps and giant leaps of faith. There have been moments of despair, fear, disappointments, and sadness but 
also those of great joy, success and deliverance. Good moments become more and more frequent as I walk the journey. I learn more and more about therapies and coping and about the God who truly loves me. Past hurts become less painful, trauma is triggered less often, and I can bask in the light of day. I am happy, hopeful, my mind is at peace. Life is good and it’s challenges are temporary. I have the power to change my circumstances. God is in control and he has blessed me with tools to help me be an 
overcomer.
